Types of Advising Appointments
We offer several types of appointments to best serve the needs of a pre-health student. Explore and expand each option below to determine which type of appointment can best address you needs/situation.
This type of appointment allows students to ask any advising related questions (Pre-health prerequisites, Human Biology, scheduling, etc). Student will meet one-on-one with advisors on a first come first serve basis and last no more that 15 minutes.
- Reasons to go to this type of appointment:
- Quick enrollment questions
- Adjusting current schedule before the end of enrollment period
- You have a quick question for an advisor that will take 15 minutes or less to address
- There is limited availability for 30-minute Individual appointments and you have a time sensitive question or concern
- Prior scheduling is NOT required

- Drop-ins may be busier around enrollment periods. Typical dates of enrollment periods
are:
- The first week of classes for Fall/Spring semesters
- October/November for Spring enrollment
- March for Fall enrollment
This type of appointment is a traditional one on one advising appointment, where you would be able to meet with a Human Biology/Pre-Health Advisor directly for 30 minutes.

- Exploring professional health careers and identifying prerequisites
- Discussing opportunities for health-related experiences (Clubs, internships, research, clinical positions, volunteering, etc.)
- Advice for building a competitive application
- Deciding on a major that best fits your professional goals
- University Policy questions or concerns
- This appointment REQUIRED prior scheduling
- Our Human Biology/Pre-Health Advisors open 30-minute Individual appointment slots
in two-week increments
- Additional appointments are opened each Monday morning for the upcoming two weeks. We suggested searching for appointments at that time to find the most availability
- Availability for this type of appointment tends to fill very quickly
The Pre-Health Peer Advisors provide the perspective of upper-class pre-health students in assisting other students with a variety of advising needs, such as exploring co-curricular activities, major exploration, pre-health prerequisites, and application preparation.

- This appointment REQUIRED prior scheduling

- You must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 to meet with a Peer Advisor.
