Senior Pre-Health Peer Advisor: Sarah St. Germain
I am a senior majoring in human biology with a minor in business, and on the pre-medical track. My schedule is filled with engaging extracurricular activities that allow me to gain valuable clinical experience, volunteer, and shadow top-notch medical professionals. Through these experiences, I have gained a wealth of knowledge about the various specialties within the medical field, and what it truly takes to become a doctor.
Apart from my academic pursuits, I am an active volunteer for the Crisis Text Line and McLaren Hospital. I have also recently joined the crew of volunteers at Mitten Misfits Farm Sanctuary which I absolutely love.
Getting certified as a Nursing Assistant has also been one of my proudest achievements throughout the past year as well as becoming the President of the American Medical Women’s Association at Michigan State University. Giving back to my community is incredibly important to me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of those around me. Of course, I also make sure to take time for myself and indulge in my interests. I absolutely love traveling, spending time on my lake, attending concerts, and hanging out with friends.
If you're interested in learning more about what MSU has to offer, or simply want to chat about your own journey, I would be happy to connect. I look forward to the opportunity to share my experiences and help you along the way!
Pre-Health Peer Advisor: Tressa Huizinga
I’m a senior majoring in physiology and on a pre-PA track. During my time at MSU I have been an active member in the MSU Pre-PA Club and participated in an education abroad program. Outside of my academic career at MSU, I am a certified Patient Care Technician currently working at my local hospital while also volunteering at a clinic in my local area. I also enjoy traveling, spending time with friends, and going up north with my family.
Navigating the pre-health track can often feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. If you’re interested in learning about what MSU has to offer, don’t hesitate to set up a meeting to chat about your journey to pursing your goals.
I am looking forward to meeting you and being a part of your MSU experience!
Pre-Health Peer Advisor: Cordelia Kraus
I am a junior pursuing a degree in Physiology and am on the pre-medical track. Trying new things and giving back to my community are some of my top priorities. I am a UMH-Sparrow Hospital volunteer, serve on E-Board with MSU Alternative Spartan Breaks, and also volunteer through MSU’s Center for Survivors. Additionally, I currently work as a Rehab Technician through Hope Network where I provide clinical care. Outside of my extracurriculars, I enjoy running, playing chess, and exploring new spots on campus in my free time.
I’d love to share my experiences and answer any questions you might have about the pre-health track. I look forward to meeting with you and being a part of your journey here at MSU!
Pre-Health Peer Advisor: Liana Seaborn
I’m a senior majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Anthropology. I am also an Honors College and Charles Drew Science Scholars member. I am on the pre-medical track. During my time at MSU, I have been involved in several extracurricular activities, including being an executive board member of the MSU chapter of the Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (MAPS), as well as volunteering, and working at a hospital back home originally as a Nursing Assistant, but currently as an Imaging Assistant. I enjoy traveling, hanging out with friends, trying new restaurants, and I have recently taken up crochet.
Navigating pre-health tracks can be quite challenging, I switched pre-health tracks during my sophomore year. I can help navigate course plan changes as well as help you figure out what extracurriculars you need and how to accomplish them. Throughout my time at MSU, I have gained a wealth of knowledge about the various careers within the medical field, and what it takes to be successful in medicine. Please don’t hesitate to set up a meeting with me, I am always happy to help. I look forward to meeting with you!
